March 8th-- Scribe

Today, we went over what we handed in to turnitin.com yesterday. Some questions that we went over were "Who would kill a dog?" (Maggie and Matt asked this) and "What does the joke mean on page 8?"(Maggie and I asked this). Kaityln asked about what time period this book was in. And after looking through the book we found that on the bottom of page 5 it talked about going to the library in 1996. We came to the conclusion that it was somewhere around that time.

We also shared the passages that each of us chose to turn it the other day. Maggie chose a passage on page 28-29 that showed Chris's personality, and Kaitlyn chose a passage on page 7 that also showed his personality. I showed a passage on page 21 because I thought that it had a second meaning, and Matt chose a passage on page 13 that showed and example of Chris's OCD.

The main focus of the discussion was about why Chris was brought to jail, even though he had problems. Matt thought that he shouldn't have been and argued the point that you were guilty until proven innocent. In the end, since we couldn't reach an agreement, we asked Ms. Hart and she said that it was in fact the other way around, you were innocent until proven guilty.
